Who am I?
For the purposes of this intro, it's not really necessary to know who I am. Suffice to say that my online friends know me as "Hari" and my full name is Harishankar. I began blogging in 2005 because I wanted a place to express my creativity and views on a variety of subjects. I found that contributing to third party websites was unrewarding. Besides, a blog seemed the perfect way to get more traffic for my forum LiteraryForums.org. Little did I know then that my blog would take on a life of its own. If I'd known then that my blog would have very little to do with my forum, I would have probably got a domain name of its very own.Online activities
I've been a regular online for the better part of 5 years now. I've participated in web forums, communities and social networks with varying degrees of interest. These days, I don't participate in social networks in any big way. Even discussion groups don't hold a great deal of attraction to me, particularly tech-oriented forums which attract immature kids with attitude. The only interest I have in is blogging for creativity and managing my community, LiteraryForums.org. Obviously I do interact with other bloggers as well.
Writings
I have a wide range of interests which is reflected in this blog. You might find the mix somewhat confusing. Initially I was keenly interested in Linux, but even though I am still a Debian GNU/Linux user, you won't find me writing on Linux too often [I am a big fan of Free Software (not Open Source) if you care/know to distinguish between the two terms]. I love writing original humour, particularly spoof news. I also love drawing and post my cartoons here at fairly regular intervals. Sometimes, I just post a very philosophical, preachy rant. It all depends on the moment of creativity (or lack of it). What you won't find here is personal blogging. All my writing is aimed at giving my readers information and pleasure, so sue me if you will
I also write book, movie and television reviews (rather infrequently) at my other website, harishankar.org.
