I've made a few minor enhancements on this blog. First of all, as I mentioned before, I've cleaned up the XHTML and CSS to render properly with Internet Explorer. I've also added a contact form in case you wish to send me a message in private. The third minor enhancement is the browser identification plugin which will show the browser and the OS from which every comment is posted. I found this plugin first on J_K9 @ Linux and then on Ray's blog and so I decided to add it here as well, since it's always interesting to note which browsers are commonly used by your website visitors.

  1. could you post what the problem was, as I think I have the same issues with sites I have designed. This is also a test comment to see the new plugin...

  2. The IE issue was regarding the CSS attribute padding and margin and also interpreting percentage widths. IE was very finicky about paddings and it stretched the DIV tags too much and led to misalignment (the sidebar dropped to the bottom). Firefox and Opera didn't stretch the DIV elements when a padding was specified.IE also tends to indent too much on the UL and LI tags and also provide too much padding when percentages are used as padding or margin specifiers. I solved both problems by first removing excessive padding on the sidebar and header and also by using a fixed pixel width as padding for the sidebar. You can take a look at the CSS and XHTML code also.
