Here's a crossword puzzle I cooked up today. I have never created one before and I took up the challenge. The result is not too professional, but I wanted to see how my readers could solve this (print this image and the clues). I'll post the solution later. In the meantime, feel free to post individual answers and your feedback.

The first person to complete this puzzle and send me the answers by e-mail will be specially acknowledged when I post the solution. Sorry, no prizes though :P

Here it is:

  1. Too hard for me today to concentrate on it. It looks to be medium difficulty, but I couldn't solve an easy one today. Brain hurts.

  2. Thanks RT. I was curious about how readers perceive this. It's a freeform puzzle and most of the words should be simple. If I've made any mistake in the clues, I'd be much obliged if they could be pointed out.Take your time. Would love feedback. I enjoyed creating this one and might even make it a regular feature of my blog if you people like it. I generally do the "Guardian Crossword" in my local newspaper. They also carry the NYT puzzle, but that's too much for me. ;)

  3. 27 across is wrong - you can't fit all the letters of "Perrier" in :)

  10. During my engineering days I used to freelance for a Bangalore based local newspaper and used to create simple puzzles for their readers (just 10 by 10 or 12 by 12 max). Your post made me recall those days...

  11. Hmm... well, in spite of Shrinidhi's answers, I'll have a go at it sometime. You sure find a lot of time for these, don't you, Hari?

  12. Most of it is right, Shri, but please don't post the entire solution in the comments section so as not to spoil it for others. I will send you an e-mail to let you know mine. Also one of your answers is wrong. Try and find out which one...Sudipta, it took me about 1 and a half hours or more. Do you know, I do a lot of other things as well. Does posting anything like this have to mean I have too much time to spare? :P
