Here's my attempt at drawing Charlie Chaplin from a photo found on the internet.

I think something went wrong with the eyes, but I'm not able to find out where it went wrong.

Update: check out the newer version.

  1. looks good! maybe the scale on the eyes? Eyes are tricky- I dislike drawing them.

  2. Yes, I figured that out, but I also think the distance between the eyes and the mouth is a problem here.

  3. Not bad. What did you draw this on? I should dig up some old drawings I might still have around. I once drew a picture of Cal Ripken Jr. which was pretty detailed.

  5. It would be helpful to see the photo you drew it from. It definitely looks like the distance from the eyes to the mouth is too far.

  6. Really good Hari...

I sometime try painting but never manage to get facial expression right.

  7. RT, the image I used is found in this link:

I know. I think the eyes are a bit too small and the mouth is also a bit off.

    Shrinidhi, thanks. :)

  8. Okay, I looked at both closely, your drawing has both the eyes and the mouth too small, everything else is fine.

  9. Yes, RT. When I drew the picture, it was double the size so the proportion wasn't so obvious.

When I scaled it down, the mistakes have become somewhat magnified.
