Blogrolling.com links

I just noticed that some bloggers who link to this blog (thanks to all of them, by the way!) have used blogrolling.com redirection links instead of directly linking to my blog with the main URL.

This delays the loading time by several seconds as blogrolling.com displays ads in a separate frame on top. The linked website is shown in a frame and so loses all the benefits of directly linking, like SEO; but that aspect is less important to me.

I always prefer to be given a direct link if possible. The blogrolling.com ad frame is plain annoying and serves no purpose other than to promote their linking service and advertisers (which frankly speaking only benefits them).

I also want to remind everybody who're still linking to hari.literaryforums.org to change the URL to point to harishankar.org/blog. That's the end of this service announcement. ;-)

  2. I prefer Masala links to plain links. Salted with a bit of pepper is better still...

  3. I agree with you, Hari. Thanks for the "heads up" about linking, as I've not checked the links from my site for a while (and, yes, I had to update your link)

  4. MrCorey, I wanted to bring to bloggers' attention that the service they're using freely to link (why anybody would use a service to generate a list of URLs is utterly beyond me, but that's another topic) is sneakily placing their own ad frame instead of the intended website. This is plainly unethical.
