Staff at TheAdminZone.com forums

I've just been appointed as a senior staff member at TheAdminZone forums. :)

Being appointed a moderator of a community of forum administrators is a special feeling. Hope I can do a good job of it now.

  2. It's a super moderator position, same as you are in LiteraryForums. I can do all sections - but I could select any area which I wanted to concentrate on so I chose "Managing your community" and "Community review". ;)

  6. Thanks J_K9. First time I'm a moderator on such a big forum... I'm learning a lot of what goes on behind the scenes as well. :)Being a moderator isn't easy by any means. It's harder than being an admin at any rate! :P

  7. You're telling me! I'm a moderator on an up-and-coming forum, and it's not at all easy! Makes me feel sorry for Ray and Drew at times ;)To be fair, the admins' jobs aren't that simple.. We have one admin who is almost constantly coding new features for the forum :DBest of luck, Hari.. Hope it all goes well ;)

  9. Not as many complaints as you may think. in fact, I haven't had any hate mail for ages and no threads titled "XavierP is a Nazi" for almost a year. Maybe I'm being too nice.....

  10. Yeah, although LinuxQuestions.org is an exceptional case. It's a community of a kind I've not encountered anywhere else. For such a large community (200,000+ members) the atmosphere is particularly restrained and mature (except on the odd occasion when another Linux Windows flame war blows up). And of course Ray deserves the moderator of the year award from all of us :P (eh... what? No not kidding, really...) ;)And no, I've not got complaints so far either... And Ray, one advantage you have is that PMs are disabled at LQ. :lol:

  11. Yeah, having PMs disabled is a help, but email isn't. Personally, I really enjoy getting hate mail - it shows I'm doing my job and having fun :)
