Yet another site CSS overhaul. I don't know why, but I seem to alternate between fixed-width and flowing layouts. Somehow, I always come back to a fixed-width theme because it simply looks nicer on screen and allows me to use photographic header background images and shadowed borders - which always adds a touch of "cool".
The good thing about making these changes is that I need not touch a single line of HTML. CSS is all I need. For those interested in designing a fixed width website theme with a beautiful image header, I created a GIMP website design tutorial a long time back. You may find it useful.
So, let me know your thoughts.

Over the years, I've used several tools for audio and video encoding on Linux and I've found a few home-truths regarding the tools used. In this article, I will share some of my thoughts on video encoding on Linux, highlighting the suitable tools/encoders used in the process. This won't however, be a comprehensive guide to video or audio encoding on Linux, for which you are referred to the manual pages of the appropriate codecs and tools.

My conception of the iconic detective of fiction of all time: Sherlock Holmes. Two versions: one B&W shaded and the other vectorized and coloured in Inkscape.

Justice is a term rarely used by lawyers except in a formal context and always never in a legal argument, except as a last resort. And for good reason. Litigants are almost always convinced that somehow justice is on their side, even if the law says otherwise and even if they cannot prove the facts that support their case.
